Wonderful shrimp soup with dark bread for lunch! Great food and very good service!
I stayed at a lake-facing room with nice view (but you wont open the window and enjoy the view long cause it was freezing). On the whole, I enjoyed my comfortable and clean room and there was much space for me to lay my suitcases open.
I had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and both were excellent. I ordered fish and duck leg for dinner. Though I could not say the dishes were beautifully present, they tasted unexpectedly delicious.
So this is not a five star hotel. It's a three star hotel that outperforms the category. Comfortable beds, good sized rooms, nice Lakeview, responsive service, and one of the best if not the best of the eight breakfast buffets we had on our Iceland trip. The word guesthouse in the name does it a disservice. We stayed at four guesthouses an four hotels. This is definitely a hotel with a lobby, restaurant and guest services.
