(Þýtt af Google) Alveg fallegur kirkjugarður og friðsæll staður til að ganga og endurspegla. Það er lítið spjald með upplýsingum um sögu kirkjugarðsins. Þessi staður hefur karakter sem marga kirkjugarða skortir. Við vorum líka svo heppin að sjá túlípana á sumrin vaxa fallega og sterka við hlið einhverrar grafar og jafnvel litla humlu sofandi inni í einni þeirra.

An absolutely beautiful cemetery and peaceful place to walk and reflect. There’s a little placard with information about the history of the cemetery. This place has character that a lot of cemeteries lack. We were also fortunate to see tulips in the summertime growing beautifully and strong next to one of the graves and even a little bumblebee sleeping inside one of them.

This is a hidden gem in the city. Full of trees and beautiful grave markers we enjoyed a quiet and contemplative stroll through the oldest cemetery in Reykjavik.

(Þýtt af Google) Vá! Þvílíkur kirkjugarður! Það passar í raun við andrúmsloft svæðisins og reyndar meiri eyju Íslands að því leyti að það er nokkuð dökkt en fallegt, ekki mikill litur en þegar þú rekst á slettur af því tekurðu virkilega eftir því.
Það hafði svæði fyrir Breta sem börðust í stríðinu sem ég bjóst ekki við. Gott útsýni yfir sumar borgina og frábær staður fyrir undur almennt. Það er virkilega ekki hægt að missa af því þegar maður heimsækir nýjan stað er að sjá hvernig hinum látnu er haldið.
Mikil saga hérna.

wow! What a cemetery! It really matches the vibe of the area and indeed the greater island of Iceland, in that it is somewhat bleak but beautiful, not much color but when you come across splashes of it you really notice it.
It had an area for Brits that fought during the war which I was not expecting. Nice views over some of the city and a great place for a wonder in general. Really not to be missed when visiting a new place is to see how the dead are kept.
Lots of history here.

Hér býður þessi litli lundur af einu trjánum í Reykjavík upp á fullkomnustu friðsældar sem ég hef upplifað. Það er greinilega hreint og gætt. Ekki of langt frá flestum öðrum borgum, eina tökin sem þú gætir haft á þessari staðsetningu er ef þú ert utanbæjar og veist ekki hvernig á að sigla um einstefnuna. Líklega best bara að nota GPS ef þú ert ekki fótgangandi. Þetta er uppáhalds hvíldin mín sem ég hef farið á.

If you can catch the sun rising here in winter, you'll be taken to an entire different world. Here, this little grove of most of the only trees in Reykjavik offers one of the most complete experiences of peace I've ever felt. It's clearly clean and taken care of. Not too far from most of the rest of the city, the only gripe you might have with this location is if you are from out of town and don't know how to navigate the one-way roads. Probably best just to use your gps if you're not on foot. This is my favorite resting grounds I've ever been to.
